Or lean it against a stand, book, or the wall — anything that holds it steady.

Do NOT hold the phone in your hand. Any movement during the study makes the eye-tracking inaccurate.

Good lighting on your face — daylight or a lamp in front of you. No bright window behind you.

Sit ~40 cm away so the camera sees your full face.

I've placed my phone on a stable surface and I will not move it during the study.
